Petaling Street
Petaling Street, a Chinatown located in the center of Kuala Lumpur. It is possible to take a commuter train straight down to Kuala Lumpur KTM station or LRT to the Pasar Seni Station.
It would be a great place to get cheap clothes, souvenirs, bags, watches, DVDs, etc, and not to forget, GREAT BARGAINS! It is a really happening place, especially at night.
Besides shopping, many food stalls are available where you can feed your growling stomachs and also to quench your thirst!
Koon Kee Wan Tan Mee. It is probably the most famous Wan Tan Mee stall in the whole of Kuala Lumpur located at Lorong Hang Lekir, which has existed for almost 2 decades.
The texture of the noodle is just nice, the sauce goes well with the noodle and the char siew is rich in flavour! The price of the wan tan mee is a little pricey though, but it would be worth trying after a tiring day of hopping from stalls too stalls!
- Small - RM4.80
- Large - RM5.30
Chee Cheong Fun. It is a thin roll made from wide strip of rice noodle, an all time favourite food of Ms Blueberry once she finishes attending her tuition class nearby, and is located behind the Koon Kee Wan Tan Mee stall. To be very honest, the place is not hygienically clean. Therefore, as a typical Malaysian, just focus on your food and not your surroundings!
It is served in two flavours, spicy or non-spicy. The Chee Cheong Fun is not served with any Yong Tau Foo, which makes it special around Klang Valley. The price would be RM3 per plate.
Air Mata Kucing. Even since I was small , these stall has been here for years. Now, they even have their own T-shirts to market their brand and make their Air Mata Kucing a household name.
A single cup will cost as low as RM1.20. Just a bit over RM1.00, this drink is considered cheap. Even if its cheap, it doesn't mean it doesn't taste good! ingredients used are such as dried longan, lo hon ko wintermelon and also rock sugar.
Taste is definietly there, with the first drop of touching your tongue, you just feel AWESOME! Besides the point, they give too much ice. Well, thats the only downside I can think of.
